THANK YOU!
Thank you Scottsboro for your overwhelming vote of confidence on Tuesday, August 26! Thanks to the 3900 citizens who exercised their privilege to vote during inclement weather. To everyone who wore t-shirts, placed signs in their yard, handed out cards, went door to door, expressed their support to friends and family members, offered encouragement, and contributed to my campaign, I thank you so very much!I give a special thank you to Kathy and Breanna for their understanding and patience during the last few weeks and for their unconditional love. Thanks to my mother, sister, brother, in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who assisted and believed in what I was trying to achieve.I anxiously anticipate November 3 when we all begin to take Scottsboro’s next step forward! Welcome to www.meltonpotter.com For those of you who haven’t heard yet, I am seeking the office of mayor in the City of Scottsboro, Alabama. As a life-long resident of this wonderful city, I can think of no greater honor than serving those of you who call this place home. Please allow me to give you a brief introduction of myself. I am 49 years-old. I graduated from Scottsboro High School. I have been married for 25 years to the former Kathy Johnston, also of Scottsboro. We have one daughter, Breanna. I currently serve the residents of this city as fire chief. I have worked within the Scottsboro Fire Department continually since 1987. In 1991 I was promoted to fire inspector/investigator; in 1998 was promoted to assistant fire chief; and in 2001 I was appointed fire chief. I am often asked why I want to run for mayor. My reply is simple. I think the office of mayor is the best place to apply my administrative experience. It is a place where positive changes can affect many. It is an office where I can continue to serve the residents of my hometown. Thank you for visiting www.meltonpotter.com. Please feel free to browse all sections of this site. My intent is to give you as much information about me as possible. Within the site you will find my experience, education and training, and goals. You will also find a contact page to e-mail me with any questions you may have. If I can be of any assistance please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks again for dropping by. Please remember to vote Melton Potter for mayor in the Scottsboro Municipal Election on August 26. Sincerely, Melton Potter |
